Raymarine DockSense Assisted Docking System

 Raymarine DockSense Assisted Docking System
Jan-29-19
The Raymarine DockSense assisted docking system from FLIR Systems is the first of its kind to help recreational boat owners safely dock their boats.

Docking a boat in tight spaces during windy or choppy conditions can stressful—and sometimes expensive! To help reduce the chances of property damage, the DockSense system is designed to augment the captain’s skills with its ‘Virtual Bumper zone technology.’ The system can predict and compensate for wind and currents via GPS and AHRS (attitude heading reference system), while its array of machine vision cameras offer a 360-degree view of the area around the boat. In addition to offering a better view, the DockSense’s assistive technology will also apply corrective steering and throttle commands to help avoid a collision.
