Revolving Doors Prevent Intruders

Revolving Doors Prevent Intruders
Jan-06-13
The Barbecan LRD Portal is a system of doors designed to automatically scan for weapons and prevent intruders from entering a building.

Recently patented by Barbecan Security Systems, the Linear Revolving Door portal is made up of a corridor outfitted with two pivoted doors mounted on slides. The doors are designed to open and close in front of and behind a person as they enter, while the sensor array keeps pace with the person’s stride to eliminate bottlenecks. At no time is there an opening a person could run through. Once the person is between the two doors, the system scans them for weapons. If any are detected, the doors then move in reverse to push the intruder out or seal shut to hold the person until the police arrive.

The doors can be programmed to open completely in the case of an emergency evacuation.
