The head-worn REY device translates the visual world into audio cues and delivers them via bone conduction.
Developed by Clara Fessler to offer more independence to the visually impaired, the sleek and stylish REY is equipped with a forward-facing depth sensor and camera as well as a pair of bone conduction speakers and vibrating motors. Information about the wearer’s environment is relayed in 3D sound along with strategic vibrations, which offers a more intuitive means of navigation while keeping the ears open and the hands free.
