Rivelin Patch Adheres to Mouth Sores

Rivelin Patch Adheres to Mouth Sores
Jun-25-18
The innovative biodegradable Rivelin patch sticks in place to heal mouth sores faster.

While typical medications for oral lesions rely on fluids or creams that will disperse throughout the mouth, the oral patch from the at the University of Sheffield and Dermtreat A/S offers a better way for the treatment to remain in contact with the lesion. The Rivelin patch is made up of electrospun fibers that have been embedded with clobetasol-17-propionate, a healing steroid, and features a non-toxic bioadhesive that enables it to adhere securely within the wet environment of the mouth for up to two hours.
