Robin Smartphone Tackles Storage Shortages

Robin Smartphone Tackles Storage Shortages
Feb-21-16
The Robin smartphone from Nextbit hopes to eliminate storage shortage problems by automatically sending certain data to the cloud.

The Robin phone comes with 32 gigabytes of on-board storage and 100 gigabytes of storage in the cloud. In order to keep the phone’s own storage as free as possible, the Nextbit software monitors how often the user opens specific apps or accesses photos, and sends the lesser used items to the cloud-based server. The cloud-based stored apps are tinted gray on the screen, and can be downloaded with just a tap.
