Robotic Labs allow Scientists to Work From Home

Robotic Labs allow Scientists to Work From Home
Mar-20-20
Strateos claims it will have remote robotic labs available within a few months for chemists synthesizing new compounds and testing them on living tissue.

The company's first robotic cloud lab has four robots that run experiments in laboratories for remote clients including DARPA.

Tests can include how compounds react to enzymes or how synthetic yeast organisms respond to stimuli. Users will soon be able to do toxicology tests on living cells.

The technology is fully automated and programmable and allows access to tools such as acoustic liquid handlers, spectrophotometers, real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction instruments, and flow cytometers.

The platform allows scientists to concentrate on proving their hypotheses instead of buying, setting up, and calibrating equipment.
