Self-Administered Flu Vaccine

Self-Administered Flu Vaccine
Jul-04-17
A microneedle patch for self-administered pain-free flu vaccinations alleviates needle fears.

Developed by teams from Georgia Tech and Emory University, the experimental patch could help encourage more people to vaccinate for the flu. The patch features an array of microneedles that will dissolve within the top layers of the skin, painlessly delivering the vaccine. The patch can also be administered by the patient outside the clinical setting, offering an option for people unwilling or unable to go to a doctor’s office.
