Sesame Smart Lock Opens With a Secret Knock

Sesame Smart Lock Opens With a Secret Knock
Feb-27-15
Replace your door key with a secret knock—and feel a bit magical—with the Sesame Smart Lock.

Created by Candy House Inc., a Stanford University startup, the Sesame Smart Lock features a self-adjusting mechanism that enables it to fit over just about any existing door deadbolt and attach in seconds. Once in place, the Sesame communicates with its companion app via Bluetooth, allowing the homeowner to open the door with their smartphone much like conventional smart locks. However, the Sesame is also equipped with an accelerometer that can be set to recognize a specific pattern of knocks and then unlock the door, eliminating the need to carry keys or a smartphone and making it easier to grant access to chosen individuals.
