The SILVER 2 underwater robot will scuttle along the ocean floor to collect plastic waste.
The SILVER 2 (Seabed Interaction-Legged Vehicle for Exploration and Research 2) was created by a team at Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna Pisa with support from the National Geographic Society and Arbi Dario Spa. It is designed to travel the ocean floor on its six articulated legs, which can adapt to the varying terrain while also treading gently as it harvests plastic trash.
