Skytender Robotic Airline Drink Service

Dec-20-12 Flying may soon be a bit more eco-friendly with the Skytender, a robotic drink trolley able to dispense up to 30 different drinks without the need for soda cans and bottles.

Developed by the German firms SkyMax and Air Eltec, the Skytender is able to dispense both hot and cold drinks at the push of button. Its bag-in-a-box drink storage features 10 slots able to hold a 27-oz box of syrup, and the pair of 7.9-gl. hot and cold water tanks are insulated to maintain temperature for up to 24 hours.


According to the manufacturers, the Skytender is easy to use, is more hygienic than a conventional trolley, and will save money because it dispenses exact measures. It recently made its first flight on theGerman airline WDL Aviation, flying from Cologne to Palma Majorca, where it impressed passengers with its speed and quality of service
