SleepGuard Software Tracks Movements for Better Sleep

SleepGuard Software Tracks Movements for Better Sleep
The SleepGuard software works with a smartwatch and newly designed algorithm to help improve sleep quality.

Developed by teams from Lancaster University and China’s Northwest University, the SleepGuard software analyzes the data gathered by the user’s smartwatch to determine sleep factors such as body movements and sounds. A separate light sensor also monitors the amount of ambient light in the sleep environment. According to the team, by capturing the physical activities of sleep rather than relying on biomedical signals, the SleepGuard software offers a wider insight into better sleep quality.
