The Smart 2 pistol was designed to overcome some of the challenges of other onboard gun safety features, such as fingerprint readers (which can become dirty) and RFID-paired watches and rings. Instead, the Smart 2 pistol is equipped with a PIN pad that lets the user unlock the gun by entering their personal identification number. The gun also features a backup safety that will relock the gun if it is somehow separated from the owner, as well as a motion detector that will sound an alarm if the gun is tampered with (such as by a curious child).
