A smart glove equipped with stretchy sensors greatly simplifies the process of capturing hand motions in real-time.
The glove, which could have significant applications in robotics, biomedicine and virtual reality, was created by a team from KTH using a silicon and fabric material containing 44 stretch sensors. Information captured by the sensors is processed by a specialized algorithm with no external cameras required. The glove can also take accurate readings in dark environments and while the hand is holding an object.
