Smart Stethoscope Listens for Pneumonia

Smart Stethoscope Listens for Pneumonia
Feb-07-19
A smart stethoscope from researchers at Johns Hopkins relies on AI to detect the early signs of pneumonia.

Developed by researchers at Johns Hopkins University, who created the startup Sonavi Labs to market the device, the AI-powered stethoscope can listen for specific types of breathing to detect the signs of pneumonia. According to the company, the digital stethoscope also requires less precise placement on the body, while its active noise control allows it to be used in noisy environments.
