Smart Traffic Light Counts Down to the Green

Oct-19-12 The Smart Traffic Light hopes to take some of the stress out of the daily commute by letting drivers know how much longer they have to wait for the red light to change.

Designed by Chang-Chi Shih for the iF Design Talents Competition, the Smart Traffic Light is made up of series of smaller LED lights. The lights shine red to indicate the stop command, shifting their illumination to flash the countdown numbers, and can also be configured to show different signals if desired.
