SmartHealth Mod Monitors Health from a Distance

May-20-18 The SmartHealth Mod technology from ContinUse Biometrics can monitor a person’s vitals without physical contact—even through their clothing.

In development for eight years, the technology relies on lasers and a special optic-equipped camera able to analyze light and detect the nano-vibrations created by the body’s organs, such as the heart and lungs. These vibrations offer insights into the person’s health, and the company says adding a magnetic field would allow the device to monitor blood glucose levels as well.

The technology can function even through clothing, and could be particularly useful for people with chronic issues like diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
