The SOCCKET ball is a portable generator that wants to be kicked around, harvesting energy from play.
Currently seeking funding on Kickstarter, the SOCCET features a pendulum-like mechanism inside the ball that captures the kinetic energy generated as it’s kicked around in a normal game. Thirty minutes of play can generate enough electricity to power a simple LED lamp for 3 hours. Deflation-proof with a water resistant shell, the SOCCET offers an alternative, off the grid power source for families in resource-poor communities.
The development is now seeking funds on Kickstarter to take the ball to market using US manufacturers.
