Sofie E-Bike Designed for Older Riders

Dec-17-17 The Sofie e-bike was designed with extra safety precautions for older riders.

Still in the development stage, the Sofie e-bike was created in collaboration by the University of Twente, Indes, and Roessingh Research & Development. Designed to meet the unique needs of seniors, the Sofie features elements such as a steeper head angle, smaller wheels and shorter wheelbase, which increase stability at low speeds. The e-bike’s motor will also bring the rider up to a faster, more stable speed quickly, while the seat will automatically raise or lower the rider to make it easier to mount and dismount the bike.
