Soft Tissue SonicAnchor Uses Ultrasound for a Better Fit

Soft Tissue SonicAnchor Uses Ultrasound for a Better Fit
Jul-22-16
The SonicAnchor soft tissue anchor from Stryker uses ultrasound to attach itself to the bone.

Designed to help attach soft tissue to bone, the bioresorbable SonicAnchor is meant to be used in several open procedures, including foot and ankle. After the anchor is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the bone, its tip is liquefied using ultrasound, which allows the anchor to flow into the bone for a more secure fit and reduced risk of breakage. The anchor is stable enough for use within five seconds of installation.
