Solar Shelter Harvest Energy and Goodwill

Solar Shelter Harvest Energy and Goodwill
Jul-20-16
The innovative Solar Shelter concept is designed to house refugees while also providing clean energy to the local area.

Created in part to help promote a more positive public view of refugees, the Solar Shelter concept features a modular timber frame and a sloping roof that holds a large, visible solar array. The design would provide a spacious interior along with a conspicuous example of how the home was benefitting the surrounding area—and the locals.

The Solar Shelter was designed as part of the Home away from Home competition in the Netherlands, which asked participants to design suitable temporary housing for asylum seekers.
