Spirit Solar Lamp Post is Completely Off the Grid

Oct-16-13 The Spirit lamp post is being hailed as the first stand-alone solar lamp post, powered entirely by the sun with no grid connection required.

Designed by Kaal Masten studio, the solar panels and battery pack for the lamp are integrated into the post, enabling the system to completely stand alone. The ‘solarmast’ powers the array of LEDs, which are controlled by an onboard power management system that automatically dims the lights as necessary to extend their life or suit the ambient light levels. The post can reach up to 19.7 yards high, and the modular design makes it easily customizable for a variety of locations.
