StethoMe Wireless Stethoscope Monitors Asthma at Home

StethoMe Wireless Stethoscope Monitors Asthma at Home
Feb-14-18
The StethoMe wireless stethoscope helps parents monitor their child’s asthma at home.

To reduce the number of doctor visits often required of a child with asthma, a team from Adam Mickiewicz University created the wireless StethoMe, a handheld, wireless stethoscope that collects data on heartbeat, temperature and the sound of the lungs. The device communicates with an app to guide the placement on the child’s body, with the processed data both sent to a smartphone and displayed on a small screen on the device itself. The results can also be sent to a doctor via the app, offering a diagnosis without the need to visit a clinic.
