Swift Shield Folds Open to Stop Bullets

Swift Shield Folds Open to Stop Bullets
Jan-23-20
The Swift Shield origami-inspired ballistics shield from ATCS can fold down for transport and storage and open to offer protection from bullets and other projectiles.

Originally designed by a team from Brigham Young University using Kevlar, the Swift Shield was commercialized by ATCS (Advanced Technology Compliant Solutions) using “ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene materials." The shield is coasted in a waterproof and chemical-resistant shell made of the polyethylene Hypalon, and can be folded down to fit in a vehicle and then deployed quickly to offer six square feet of lightweight and effective ballistics protection.
