Tarzan the Robot Eyes Crops from Above

Tarzan the Robot Eyes Crops from Above
Apr-14-17
Inspired by sloths, Tarzan the Robot will travel along overhead wires to help farmers monitor their crops.

Created by a team from the Georgia Institute of Technology, the robot was developed to monitor plants for specific characteristics, such as drought tolerance. Tarzan the Robot would travel the crops along an elevated wire, much like how a sloth travels along limbs, in order to get a greater view of the entire field. The team also believes the bot’s slightly higher elevation would allow it to be charged by solar panels.
