Tether Eye Drone is a Virtual Observation Tower

May-26-16 Designed with military uses in mind, the Tether Eye Drone from AeroVironment can be launched above a ground unit to offer an “eye in the sky” for extra security.

The Tether Eye is equipped with infrared and electro-optical cameras, and can be launched from a fixed or moving position, where it will hover up to 150 ft over its assigned units to offer 24-hour surveillance. Power is transmitted to the drone via the reinforced tether, and the data is transmitted back to a base station in real time.
