Thermal Imaging Camera Detects Fever

Mar-21-20 An alternate method of screening large numbers of people as in airports could be Athena Security's AI camera which uses thermal imaging to detect people who have fever possibly related to COVID-19.

The cameras can detect heat from 12 different places on the body with accuracy within half a degree while zooming in on a person's inner eye, which is the most indicative of the body's actual temperature.

The system uses AI to monitor numerous cameras at once, and send an alert to security personnel if it detects someone with a fever.
