Tiny Sensor Detects Diseases by Pressure

Tiny Sensor Detects Diseases by Pressure
Jul-01-17
An innovative sensor able to detect disease biomarkers by pressure changes could open the door to a new range of tiny testing devices.

The tiny sensor is equipped with a small chamber in which specialized nanoparticles act as a catalyst to trigger H2O2 to break up when it comes in contact with a targeted compound. This causes 02 to be released, increasing the pressure inside the chamber and indicating the presence of the biomarker.
