Titanium Bone Foam

Titanium Bone Foam
Sep-24-10
Researchers in Germany have developed a product called TiFoam which is used to encourage damaged bone to grow into the implant. It is designed specifically to work with load-bearing bones.

Previous bone replacements actually decreased bone strength, as they took the load, allowing the natural bone to deteriorate due to lack of use.

TiFoam is designed to be as flexible as the adjacent bone, allowing patients to perform load-bearing activities that engage the natural bone and encourage growth and strength.

I am interested in finding out more information on this because I have a congential dislocation of hips. I want to find out if this will help me get a hip bone surgery done.
