Trampoline Bridge Crosses the Seine

A new trampoline bridge concept for Paris could put a spring in everyone’s step.

The bridge, designed as part of the competition A Bridge in Paris, is made up of inflatable rings each supporting a trampoline mesh in the center. Measuring 30 meters in diameter, the trampoline platforms are curved into arches and held together by a cord to form a stable and self-supporting structure. Access to the bridge would be by cantilevered stairs, with the option of a slide dismount, and the 5-foot high walls of the bridge would help to keep the hoppers safely contained.

Besides providing an unusual and playful way to cross the Seine, the bride is also eco-friendly, requiring minimal construction.
