TrueTear Tear Stimulator

TrueTear Tear Stimulator
Nov-14-17
The TrueTear neural stimulator fights dry eye syndrome without drops.

Created by a team at Cincinnati Eye Institute, the battery-operated TrueTear device is equipped with a pair of prongs each topped with a disposable, hydrogel tip. The prongs are slipped gently into the nostrils, simulating a nerve that causes tear production.

In tests on volunteers, the TrueTears not only produced a higher level of tears, it also produced more ‘complete’ tears, with the oils and proteins intact.
