UVeBand Monitors Sun Exposure, Replaces Moms

Mar-09-13 The UVeBand monitors the strength of the UVA and UVB rays and will vibrate to remind you when it’s time to reapply sunscreen.

The system feature a UV sensor integrated into the silicone-coated, water-resistant band. A UV sensor peeks through a small window on the band to monitor the radiation, sending the data to an onboard processor. Based on a formula developed by a leading US dermatologist, a memory chip in the band calculates when the users should apply more sunscreen and triggers the band to vibrate for about two minutes.
