Velox Robot Undulates on Ice

Velox Robot Undulates on Ice
Dec-10-18
The Velox robot from Pliant Energy System moves across solid ice with its innovative undulating fins.

Inspired during an exploration into renewable energy and flexible biomorphic devices, the Velox robot eschews hard, spinning blades in favor of a pair of long, flexible fins that undulate to propel the robot forward through water. The robot can also travel on dry land by flipping its fins 90 degrees to form a sort of undulating ‘foot’ able to move across sand, snow, asphalt and ice.
