Verisus Affordable Keyhole Surgery Robot

Verisus Affordable Keyhole Surgery Robot
Aug-23-17
The Versius miniature robot arm could make non-invasive keyhole surgery more accessible to patients.

Created by a team from Cambridge Medical Robotics, the nimble Versius robot is one-third the size of current keyhole surgery robots, and costs a great deal less. The first surgical robot from Cambridge Medical Robotics, the arm’s design is based on the human arm, with flexible articulation. The device is controlled by a surgeon who can see and guide the Versius’s movements via a high-resolution display screen, easing stress on the surgeon and promoting a more successful outcome.
