Vycle Pedal-Powered Lift

Vycle Pedal-Powered Lift
Jul-09-17
The Vycle pedal-powered elevator offers a healthier way to travel between floors.

The Vycle working prototype was created by graduate student Elena Larriba as a playful alternative to stairs and elevators. Counterweights on the device help alleviate some of the effort as well as prevent the Vycle from plummeting down if the user stops pedaling.

Though the Vycle may not find its way into office buildings any time soon, Larriba believes it could have applications at construction sites, making it easier for workers to climb up and down scaffolding.
