WaveCel Helmets Mimic Brain's Protective Fluid

WaveCel Helmets Mimic Brain's Protective Fluid
Mar-19-19
The WaveCel helmet line from Bontrager features an innovative cellular polymer that protects the brain better than conventional helmet options.

Created by Dr. Steve Madey and biochemical engineer Dr. Michael Bollang, the cellular polymer helmet layer will flex and crumple on impact to disperse energy, reducing the forces to the head. More importantly, however, the material will also slide inside the helmet to help prevent rotational injury—much like the body’s own brain fluid.
