Wearable Device Boosts Data Transmission to Save Power

Wearable Device Boosts Data Transmission to Save Power
Jul-21-19
A sensor-equipped textile that boosts data transmission would improve the way small and wearable devices communicate with each other.

The textile was developed by a team from the National University of Singapore by incorporating conductive materials into the fabric, creating a ‘wireless sensor body network’ that speeds the transmission of data by up to 1000 times more than current options. This increase in data transmission also equates to power savings—increasing the battery life of the devices significantly.
