A wearable tracking system for use at large events relies on GPS to monitor many staffers at once—with no need for a mobile phone connection.
At large public events, it can be very useful to keep tabs on the location of the security staff. The new system created by the team from Fraunhofer does just that via small, wearable trackers that use the LoRa (Long Range) wireless data protocol to transmit data to a central location. Station personnel can monitor staff whereabouts in real time, making it easier to coordinate a response as well as locate an individual in an emergency.
