The Whill Type-A motorized wheelchair brings a new level of independence to wheelchair-users, and looks very stylish as well.
The Whill Type-A was inspired by an earlier prototype device that could be clamped onto the wheels of a standard wheelchair, giving it an electric drive system. Instead of a separate piece of equipment, however, the Whill Type-A is a standalone unit, featuring controls that can be operated with one hand, adjustable arms and a seat that can slide backwards or forward to faciliate getting in and out of the chair. The chair is also equipped with four-wheel drive, and can turn on the spot, climb over small obstacles and travel at six miles per hour.
