Woof to Wash Lets Service Dogs Do the Laundry

Woof to Wash Lets Service Dogs Do the Laundry
Nov-28-13
The Woof to Wash washing machine is the first of its kind, designed to increase the independence of people who rely on service dogs for daily activities.

Although some service dogs are able to fill laundry baskets and load washing machines, they have not yet quite mastered pushing buttons. To address this problem, John Middleton of JTM created a bark-to-turn-on feature that activates a the washing machine with a bark. The machine has only one setting, and will automatically dispense the proper amount of detergent. A low-set button allows the dog to open the door with the press of a paw and remove the clothes when the cycle is over.
