A new tissue glue that can be seen under X-rays would allow doctors to keep an eye on how the tissues are holding together.
The nanoparticle-based adhesive was created to offer a surgical glue able to secure tissues while also remaining visible under fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and computed tomography (CT), the most common imaging techniques. This allows the clinician to easily monitor how well the glue is holding the tissue together, a significant advantage over other surgical adhesives.
