Enclosure for sea-motion generator

A machine for generating power from the motion of the sea incorporates a gas-tight buoyant enclosure 101 which is normally filled with air and open to the sea forming a moonpool 105 at its lower end. Generating machinery 121 can operate within a gaseous atmosphere and the machine allows human access, wet via the moonpool and/or dry via an airlock 111 and gas-tight hatches 113 which can be above sea surface 107. The internal gas mixture can allow work such as installation, maintenance and upgrades without breathing apparatus. The apparatus can be attached to the sea bed, incorporate a braking mechanism and a service boat docking mechanism 131. Power can be generated by movement of enclosure 101 which may be perpendicular to the water movement and pivot about a horizontal axis.
