Device and Method for Monitoring the Vibratory State of a Rotating Machine

The present invention relates to a device for monitoring the vibrations generated by a bearing of a machine formed by two coaxial races, an outer race and an inner race, with one fixed with respect to the frame of a machine and the other rotating, between which races is trapped at least one rolling element which is able to move, vibrations generated by other members of the machine having a respective frequency signature passing through this bearing, characterized in that the device comprises at least one non-conductive positioning means mounted on an element in contact with an element of the bearing, the positioning means positioning a conductive element, forming a first plate of a capacitor to form a capacitive sensor, at a distance from a conductive part of a race of the bearing, forming the second plate of the capacitor,; and the positioning means being secured to a partitioning means so as to create an insulating medium between these two plates.
