MRFM method

A method of magnetic resonance force microscopy for which spins are flipped of nuclei or electrons in several discrete volumes of the sample simultaneously. This is accomplished by superposition of different radiofrequency components, each one associated with a specific volume. The method relies on the proportional excitement of the resonance frequency in different hemispherical volumes having differen field strengths depending on distance from the cantilever tip.
