Joining coated materials using stamp rivets with semi-hollow rivets

Before the coated sheets are joined, a sacrificial plate (5) with a specially shaped cavity is placed on the matrix (3), to act as an underlay on which the materials to be joined (1) are laid. With the stamp rivet process, the sacrificial plate is shaped into the cavity in the matrix and after the stamp rivet process the connected parts for joining and the sacrificial plate are separated from one another. A coated or uncoated metallic plate is used as the sacrificial plate. The sacrificial plate covers over the cavity in the matrix and the edge area of the cavity after the stamp rivet process.
