Reactive-power-capable Inverter

In an inverter (1), comprising two input lines (22, 23) for connecting to a direct current source (2), two half bridges (4, 5) connecting the two input lines (22, 23), and two output lines (16, 17) for connecting an alternating current load or an alternating current grid (3), each half bridge (4, 5) comprises two clock-controllable switches (6, 8 or 7, 9) having two diodes (10, 12 or 11, 13) connected in antiparallel, each output line (16, 17) is connected by means of an inductor (18 or 19) to a center (14, 15) of one of the half bridges (4, 5), and the two output lines (16, 17), downstream of the inductor (18 or 19) as viewed from the associated half bridge (4 or 5), are connected directly to the same one input line (22) by means of a further clock-controllable switch (20 or 21).
