The invention relates to a device for transmitting energy between a flowing medium and a crankshaft (1), on which a motor or generator is arranged, wherein the device comprises an oscillating bearing surface (35), which is rigidly fastened to a control shaft (30), wherein the control shaft (30) is rotatably retained by a cantilever (19a), wherein the cantilever (19a) is arranged on a rotatable body (19), wherein the rotatable body (19) is connected to the crankshaft (1) by means of a force transmitting device (15) and a first crank drive (10), wherein a second crank drive (20) is arranged on the crankshaft (1), wherein the second crank drive (20) is connected to the control shaft (30) by means of a mechanism (23) having at least one force transmitting device (25, 29) in such a way that depending on the position of the cantilever (19a), the bearing surface (35); assumes a position relative to the flow direction of the flowing medium that corresponds thereto.
