The device has a collecting trough (20) comprising a stripping device (25), and a perforated plate (28) for producing a flow shade and arranged at the trough in the direction of backwater in a vertically displaceable manner, where the trough extends over breadth of an intake screen (1). The plate extends over length of the trough, and the trough is guided in a vertically movable manner by a guiding device (21) that is arranged parallel to the intake screen, where the trough has a base locking cap (29).
