Apparatus and Measuring Arrangement for Determining the Particle Concentration, the Particle Size, the Mean Particle Size and the Particle Size Distribution of the Particles in a Disperse Phase Inside

The invention relates to an apparatus and a measuring arrangement for determining the particle concentration, the particle size, the mean particle size and the particle size distribution of the particles in a disperse phase inside a disperse system (2) and the turbidity thereof by measuring the transmission and/or by measuring the scattered light (4') of a measuring beam (4, 20, 27, 30) after travelling over a measuring path (L, L1, L2) running in the disperse system. In this case, the apparatus has a flow space (1) which accommodates the disperse system (2), a measuring beam emission area (6) from which the measuring beam (4, 20, 27, 30) emerges, and a measuring beam collector area (10) which receives the measuring beam (4, 20, 27, 30) after passing through the measuring path (L, L1, L2). According to the invention, a first enveloping element (7) extends from the measuring beam emission area (6) to or into the flow space (1) and a second enveloping element (11) extends from the measuring beam collector area (10) to or into the flow space (1). In this case, the ends of the first and second enveloping elements (7, 11) are arranged at an axial distance from one another, and the measuring beam (4, 20, 27, 30) is guided inside the first and second enveloping elements (7, 11), wherein the section of the measuring beam (4, 20, 27, 30) between the ends of the enveloping elements (7, 11) defines the measuring path (L, L1, L2). The measuring beam emission area (6) and the measuring beam collector area (10) are kept free of deposits in this manner and so undistorted measurement results are possible.
