The invention relates to a lubricant for hot glass processes, in particular in the form of lubrication processes in the hollow glass industry, but also in the role lubrication in the flat glass industry, in the lubrication of flat glass molds, also in use as a plate cooler, where the tube glass manufacturing with lubricated thorns or the lubrication of the rollers found in the roll forming of glass applications. The lubricant can also be used for surface treatment of glass.The object of the invention is to develop lubricants for hot glass processes that lead to a surface treatment of manufactured glass articles, particularly to increase strength and improve chemical resistance.

The object is achieved by a lubricant, which consists of carbon-based solvents / suspensions containing up to 70 weight percent of aluminum powder with a particle size of 10 nm to 500 [mu] m.
