The device has a stent (10) having a hollow cylinder (12) which has a funnel-shaped expansion (18) at two ends (14,16). The inner diameter of the hollow cylinder lies in the range of 0.5 millimeter to 10 millimeter. The stent has a length in the range of 1 centimeter to 5 centimeter along the longitudinal axis. The stent consists of a biocompatible elastomer. A cladding (20) of the hollow cylinder has a notch in the area of the funnel-shaped expansion. The biocompatible elastomer is silicon or polyurethane. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for ventilating the middle ear; and (2) a method for repairing ventilation disturbance of the middle ear.
